Sleeping Snuffy

Snuffy has been changing her sleeping patterns lately. She used to show us the signs that she was sleepy; rubbing her eyes, sucking her thumb, and whining, and go right to sleep when put in her crib. Lately, she plays the crying game for a while first. While I was expecting this to come, I wasn't expecting it to break my heart every. single. night. She kicks her blankets off and rolls around screaming until one of us comes in or she falls asleep. She often is laying on her side when we check on her, and I must admit I have been trying to get a picture of it for a while as it is simply one of the cutest things I have ever seen. When I got home from work today, she wasn't on her side, she had pulled the bumper down and fallen asleep like this:

Help! I Can't Decide!

I am the worst at decisions like this! Our local paper is having a cutest baby contest. Here's what the email said: Maybe it's the moment, the lighting, or something indescribable in their eyes - but if you've captured the "ultimate" baby face on camera, we want to see it. So, which one is "the ultimate?"

1. Crinkle nose Tinkerbell

2. Thoughtful, with wooden toy

3. Tinkerbell, looking up

Or, do you like one of the other pictures I've posted? The one at the top, or the one on the side with her links? I am terrible!

Sorry Carrie, I tried

Gracie was sitting in my lap when the cat walked past and she yelled "Kitty!"
I tried to get her to reenact it for you. . .

Great Diaper Rash Tip

Gracie has been fighting a diaper rash for a few months now. Daddy asked the doctor for a prescription to help us relieve her of this pain, and she gave us excellent advice. She said that it could have a touch of yeast infection in it, so we should try an athlete's foot ointment. I never would have thought of that, but it seems to be working great. Her rash is almost gone!

Scoot Scoot, Baby

Gracie is thisclose to crawling. She has started doing the army crawl, which gets her around well enough, but I am certain she will be crawling in the next couple of days. She can get her arms under her, or her butt up, but has only done both a couple of times. Each time, she looks confusted and plops back down on her tummy. I decided to use her love of SnuffleTreats as motivation, and here is her progress:

SnuffleTreats

I know I've blogged about her love of SnuffleTreats-or Gerber Graduates to those of you who are confused, but these videos cracked. me. up. She has started getting into the containers on her own if we aren't careful where we put them! She gets her hand wet and crams it in up to her elbow, rooting around for as many as she can hold and tries to eat them all at once!

I'm lookin' ....

Daddy, these are so good!

Yum! Hey! Where'd they go?!

Snuffle's Scrapbook

I finished Gracie's scrapbook. I am sure it is just one of many, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I photographed the pages to share with all of you. Please forgive the crudeness of the pictures, my parents gave us a new camera for Christmas and I haven't completely figured it out yet! Click on the photos if you want to see them big!

First page is her professional photos from 3 weeks, next is our newly improved family in the hospital on her birthday.

Focusing on momma and daddy.

Grandparents

In the bathtime page, the left side is her first sponge bath, given by Auntie Jenni at about 1 week and the right page is her first tub bath, just after she lost her umbilical cord.

Recapping her first Brewers season, and her first trip to the Wisconsin State Fair with Grandpa and Nana Jo.

Rice cereal, and her first Halloween, with her cousin, Elara.

Lovin' kitty, and her first Thanksgiving. I plan on adding to the Thanksgiving page, it's a bit bland right now.

Her dedication-I think this is my fav page, and her first Christmas!

New Year's Day with cousin Elara- in matching outfits that Nana Jo crocheted for them.

Nine Month Well Child Exam

Gracie turned ten months yesterday, and had her nine month well child exam. No, I didn't forget how to count. She was really sick at nine months and we decided to wait until she was feeling better-then we went out of town. So, it was yesterday. She weighed in at 14 lbs, 15 oz, and is 26 1/2" long. Hummm, sounds familiar. Her stats are too close to her six month check up! The doctor didn't seem concerned though, and her vaccination went fine. Such a little peanut!

Gracie Loves Mary

We arrived home from Minnesota Sunday evening and the whole family was playing on the couch. Mary, our cat was sitting by daddy and suddenly got up and sat between me and the back of the couch. Gracie was on my lap, and when she saw Mary her face lit up and she lunged towards her. While petting her she screeched "Kit. E!" Shocked, daddy and I looked at each other. He was convinced it was a fluke, and a minute or two later she quietly said "kit. e." Daddy is still convinced that she was just practicing her sounds and "got lucky." I am not so convinced of that. At three this morning I was nursing Gracie when she caught sight of Mary and smiling, said "kitty." I'm thinking the odds that she "got lucky" three times in three days, all while seeing the cat are slim. I think Gracie loves Mary.

You can't see me!

Best friends since the beginning.

Pssst. Mary!

Cousins

Nana Jo made Gracie and her cousin, Elara matching dresses and hats for Christmas. With our unexpected trip to Minnesota, we were able to see them together in their outfits.
